As we wake up this morning to enjoy those breath taking Sunrise mornings and views from Cape Town SOUTH AFRICA , there is something very sensual with a sexy seductive edge that truly is a breathtaking hint of fresh new talent on set with us today as we introduce to you all newest MOLLBABE babe of the day , model and fitness gym trainer  instructor, Sam Jane Monnery as our MOLL MAG South Africa  CEO Arne Schreuder sat down and , brings some brand new beauty and breathe of fresh new talent to showcase today


Good Morning Sam Jane Monnery  

1. Tell us a bit more about yourself and where you reside from Sam?

  • Well I am a born and bred Capetown beauty , went to go stay in Johannesburg for a while (was a Benoni girl for about two and half years, but I always came back. no one could keep me away, every chance I could get I was on my way to Cape Town. ) so yes im back in my HOMETOWN which is the beautiful Mother City aka Cape Town.




2. How did your passion for modeling start ?




  • Well its a long story , are you ready for this …….  Funny enough my mom always said I should become a hand model and me being me who loves being in the water – I had a dream of becoming an underwater model. One of my clients and close friends JP Robberts was/ is one of my Personal training clients and him being the model of the friendship and winning the title of Third place in Mr South Africa. the one day we were training and we chatting about his Heritage day Charity Fashion Show – I remember him warming up and saying (as a joke) that I will be one of his of his runway show models. You always see those videos on the Internet about how those runway models fall or trip or even lose their balance multiple times – I was convinced that I was going to be the South Africa version of that! (wink wink). Next day JP came for his session and out of the blue told me, not ask or anything but told me that I was going to be one of the models in his show – luckily enough i didn’t have a moment of fame by falling on my face. I had so much fun that I took a chance to try something new.



3. We also come to notice you are also a personal fitness trainer and also a qualified massage therapist tell us a bit more about that ?




  • You are correct, in school I was always a fan of sports and was in the first team or captain – from water polo to team gala swimming, squash, athletics, netball, long distance running and was a life Guard. I was fortunate enough to receive a bursary to study further in something that I had a passion for, which I am very thankful about!In 2014 I graduated with six Diplomas as well as two Certificates with all my qualifications being national and international which I am very privileged to have. A few examples that I am qualified in is Personal Training, Sports/Holistic/Swedish Massage, group exercise ( aqua, boot-camp, pilates , step, stretching) and nutrition but my greatest qualification that I am proud to have is to be able to do Kids exercise. for that younger crowed I am  working with these days.



4. How long have you been a massage therapist ?




  • I was a full time therapist in 2014-2015 now I do it part time, now I am more focused on Personal Training at Virgin Active Red Parrow as well as doing home training, I still massage now and then but its taken a back seat for now.





5. As a massage therapist , in your opinion , What style of massage do you specialize in, plus what other modalities are you certified in ?




  • I try to provided both sports massage as well as the Holistic and Swedish in one, but if the client only wants a sports specific treatment then I would only focus on that. I also love doing functional exercises with my clients and outdoor training every chance that I get!




6. In your opinion what is the benefits of a massage, other than a persons body feeling relaxed after a massage therapy session ?




  • Everybody has their mind based on that massaging is purely for relaxation (which majority of is) but what they don’t realize is that it is also a way to get rid of the toxins in your body to release all the toxins that are stored in your lymph nodes. It is creating a long over due full body circulation and muscle tension release, calming the body relaxing muscles that go into spasm. Its more a detox than anything else, that’s why you should always drink a glass of water after a massage and re frame from any physical activity.



7. As a Personal fitness trainer tell us the following , after a workout , how important is it and what type of food should you eat and get in your system after and before a workout session ?




  • After a training session it is important to eat but it doesn’t have to be a big meal, it can go from two table spoons of peanut butter or a nice carb meal. I can tell you now that every Personal trainer has a different opinion with regards to what you should and shouldn’t do. My own opinion is that it all relates to the person, everybody is different, body shapes and sizes, slow fast metabolism, daily life style – its all about the person. I am a firm believer that one cannot give everybody the same exercises, eating plans and advise as everybody is different and you work with them.




8. What are the best exercising methods for getting rid of that so called , muffin tops/bat wings/inner thigh bulges ?




  • Well , its all in the diet, but there are exercises people can do….. but again it depends on the person maybe its functional training they need to weight training but I would recommended first do body weighted exercises and never do the same one over and over again. you have your triceps dips for what I like to call “winger wings” (bat wings). For that Muffin top to disappear,  bicycle crunches, Russian Twist and even just doing any exercise hold in your tummy and it will start activating muscle , that would do the trick in my opinion, and then lastly but surly not the least …. those Thigh bulges are genetic, but if you work those legs and butt I’m sure you can decrease the fat and tone up those legs.



9. Getting back to modeling , what would you say is your best experience thus far in the modeling industry ?



  • To be honest… it is seeing the raw images that come back to me, not in a vein way but I look beautiful, a way that I never thought I could look – I could swear that, that’s not me.. not my body, not my face and just how could that possibly be me? I am shocked every time. my best experience is creating a thought process that yes I’m short so I’m not your typical model, but how if you enjoy something… especially things out of my comfort zone it does boost your confidence where before you would let your insecurities get to you. Although I must say that even though the amazing Jason Children from Jason Children Photography took all these amazing photos on set today and continued to remind me that I am rocking this camera , plus would like to also thank MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA CEO Arne Schreuder , that had the belief in me to do this for this amazing MOLLBABE feature  and further more having behind the scenes dancing, jokes and just being silly. It makes it a whole lot better.



10. Congratulations on being chosen as our MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA MOLLBABE BABE OF THE DAY feature , how does that make you feel and how did you find out about our magazine ?




  • I feel honored, I must honestly say,  when I got the news that I was going to be an April #MOLLMAGSA  #babeoftheday feature, – I almost thought that it was between an April fools joke or someone pulling a prank on me. I had my moment of breaking out my most embarrassing dance moves and I didn’t know how else to contain my shock, excitement, some more shock to the system. Especially when I have only been in the modeling business for less than three months and pretty new to this experience  – how does opportunities like this even happen so fast? I have no idea, but I am definitely not complaining! I heard about MOLLMAG and MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA  from Jason Children who was the Photographer for this shoot and also Arne Schreuder as they both were in touch with me as we 3 were planning this shoot , plus I follow the MOLLMAG & MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA  pages on social media a lot ,  so I’m consistently getting updates! I really do feel privileged to have this opportunity and for that I thank both MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA , Arne and Jason. thank you so much for constantly believing in me and showing me the ropes.



11. Give us a glimpse a small behind the scene sneak peek on how you experience the day on set a long side Jason Children Photography for this feature for us ?




  • We had music blasting through out the shoot so between me breaking out the sprinkler move, jumping on the bed – I really think I gave Jason some grey hairs and made him wonder about me! Having a full on serious shoot with me, I can tell you now that cant and will never happen between taking shots where you think its going to be serious and sexy/cute and it ends up with my tongue out and going squint, another of my favorite moves is pulling a James Bond Move and singing my lungs out to a song where I just cannot control my inner self of having a great time on set  to a great song! Truly a unforgettable feeling ( wink wink )



12. What would you say and prefer is your favorite fashion trend and fashion label to wear in this fashion trend season that would make you feel confident and sexy about yourself as a woman ?




  • Funny enough, I am really not into brand names nor following fashion. In that sense I am a very simple person, don’t really mind if I do or don’t wear brand names but fortunately I have had a company asking me to be the ambassador for them and another wanting me to advertise their company so those are pretty awesome things that I am currently sorting out.



13. What and who inspires you in the world of fashion and modeling ?



  • In all honesty I don’t think I have been in the business for that long to have a Fashion or modeling icon. At the moment I take one step at a time and go with the flow ,but from a personal point of view I can say is that I inspire myself with every photo-shoot – I surprise myself every time. that’s one of the joys you have fun doing your thing and to see the results I can only look and say “wow that’s me”. Ive gotten told from other photographers and other modeling agencies that I will never be a model as I’m too short to make the cut or my shoulders are too broad.. but thing is I’m not going to change myself for modeling- as there are some photographers and people around me that like me for me and belief in me like Arne and Jason that stands by me and support me for what my talents are ,  If someone asks me to change then I say to them in the nicest way possible, Im sorry but I am who I am and Im not changing, I stand up for what I believe in and for all those who said I couldn’t…. lol well look at me now I have had the privilege to be in an amazing magazine that accepts all shapes, sizes and especially those with unique/different features! Thank you  MOLLMAG and MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA for believing in me and giving me this opportunity as this opportunity is truly inspiring to me.



14. Favorite Hobbies , what do you like to do to relax ? and just being yourself and put ya feet up and let your hair down after a hard working stressful day ?




  • Definitely love my lazy days where I can sleep in as being a mobile and gym Personal trainer, I start 5:00am – 19:00pm Monday to Saturdays. So when I can flop on the couch, I take full advantage of it. If I have a quiet day or a day where I only have to Train clients in the evening then I love my spontaneous adventures. I don’t know where to, I don’t know what I am going to do but a spontaneous day is the best thing that I could do! I am that friend that will either call “im going to be at your house in 5minutes so get dressed” or ” I rock up at your house for coffee ” the best thing is when someone calls or messages me saying ” get up, get done, or we going to mission”. After a long day I literally walk in flop on my bed and just have 5seconds of enjoying my mattress – its pure bliss!




15. Lets get sporty , which South African , cricket or rugby personality star would you like to meet and spend a day with and what would you do on that special day out together ?



  • Hmmm.. that’s a tough one! I think I would have to go with Rugby STAR Francois Hougaard, a perfect date isn’t a fancy or top class restaurant. Like I said, Im a simple, surfer, not scared to get in the mud kind of girl.. well Lady lol. I love thoughtful, spontaneous or planned but something that has been thought of and is unique. Yes, I will admit that I am a hopeless romantic! Especially, yes i know so cliché , like the Notebook movie — BUT only the part of the famous line “That’s the problem with us. We’re both stubborn and always want to get our way. We both hate to be wrong and love to be right. But that’s the thing about love. No matter what happens, we always come back for each other, one more time” and of course “So its not going to be easy. Its going to be really hard. We’re gonna have to work at this everyday. But I want to do that because I want you. I want all of you, forever, everyday. You and me… everyday”. Like I said I’m a hopeless romantic so those two quotes I would relate to in my life. So back to the point of this question , I would like him to plan a thoughtful/spontaneous adventure.




16. In your opinion What makes women’s empowerment so powerful in the world we live in today?




  • Woman are already powerful
    – The economic empowerment is central
    – Being a female and inspiring can empower other women
    – Women empowerment thankfully is not a struggle any more but can be fun : ” Smiles conquer more than frowns, and laughter is more powerful than anger. “

I am fortunate to say that before it used to be – Behind every successful woman is a tribe of there successful women, who have her back! Yes we support each other but I have been in amazing environments where a women is not disseminated against the fact she is female- everyone is equal.



17. Where and how do you see yourself in 5 years time from now ?




  • Running my own company of where primary schools/high schools/ schools for the challenged come to me to provide physical education to the children, Like I said, everybody is different. Now my belief is that one child might be obese but have amazing strength.. then you get the athletic one and the one that loves science and reading.. you can not make the obese child run around the field 20 times as he might have an asthma attack and might arrive last. Children are mean and the last thing I would want for that child is to be bullied for it! So what do you do – you give him strength exercises where it gives himself confidence and knows that he can not be bullied for excellence. The child that loves reading and science.. he might not be good at strength nor be a sprinter but he might excel in long distance running which again will boost confidence, prevent being bullied and most of all they have a great time and not dread having to do such an awesome thing as exercising! Preventing bulling and encouraging fitness to be fun, healthy and something for the kids to look forward to is the pure bliss to me!




18. Tell us whats next to do on your bucket list what would you like to achieve more as a person and a model ?




  • To continue standing up for those who get put down by so many agencies who say they don’t make the cut do to them being to big, short, broad shoulders, different.  I hope that I can inspire those to not give up and to keep going!I would like my modeling not to get to my head and lose who I am as a person but continue to enjoy modeling for what is, beautiful artwork of the body.



19.  Tell us something that is quirky and that makes you different?




  • I am a retired gymnast, love horrors,crime channel and animation! At the moment Trolls is my favorite animation(take a moment to blush)Something completely different? I am also Bipolar stage 2 and regardless of that I see a better side of life and still am the same person who wants to inspire- if i had to give anyone advise, I would say never judge a book by its cover and always be the difference and do random acts of kindness!!
