Spring Fever is so here as it’s blossoming with beauty, today is time for another new arrival to our MOLLMAGSA FAMILY, as we introduce newest MOLLBABE model and making her debut for this SPRING SEASON month of SEPTEMBER 2021 aka Marna De Beer alongside local photographer Andre Du Toit.
Marna is all about that positivity , full of fun, adventure, humorous, full of energy and spark. All the way from Pretoria SOUTH AFRICA, she makes heads turn at the ball aka always “THE BELL OF THE BALL” a married mom of 2 boys, and when it comes to modeling we quote her by saying the following:
“I’m successful, hardworking and will do anything and everything for the people I love.” also…
“At this stage in my life, I’m comfortable and happy in my own skin, accepting myself for who I am, and modelling gives me the opportunity to capture that confidence in a still shot.”
Let’s find out more as our CEO Arne Schreuder interview’s newest mollbabe model aka Marna De Beer today. “BLOSSOMING SPRING FEVER EDITORIAL”
Welcome Marna, congrats on your very first debut feature with us for MOLLMAGSA SEPTEMBER 2021 edition, how does it feel right now please explain?
Thank you so much Arne for the feature! It’s truly exciting to be given the recognition in the local modelling industry by a popular lifestyle magazine like MOLLMAGSA.
Please introduce yourself to us and the followers / fans out there, tell us a bit more about yourself, where you reside from what’s your hobbies and what makes you being you Marna?
I’m a born and bred Pretoria girl and Tuks Alumna. I have two boys, 10 and 14 years old. I enjoy being creative doing some interior decorating, trying out new recipes, reading, watching series and socializing with friends…living up to my true Leo nature always being the Bell of the Ball.
Overall, I’m positive, fun, adventurous, humorous, full of energy and spark. And yes…I am married and no… I’m not interested in giving out my number, going on coffee dates or being a sugar baby for a weekly allowance (funny remarks I get on Instagram (lol).
“I’m successful, hardworking and will do anything and everything for the people I love.”
What is it about modeling you love so much and how / where did that passion for fashion and modeling all start for you, please tell us more?
I started modelling when I was about 12 years old and did mostly ramp work. After university I took a break and only joined the modelling scene again a couple of months ago (after many years). I was a bit scared initially being out of the field for so long and being older now,
but I’ve soon realized it’s in my blood and I’m in my element in front of the camera. “At this stage in my life, I’m comfortable and happy in my own skin, accepting myself for who I am, and modelling gives me the opportunity to capture that confidence in a still shot.”
Working together with Photographer Andre Du Toit on this photo shoot, Marna tell us what is it that makes Andre such an amazing photographer in your opinion as a model, what would be the 3 factors that stands out?
I met Andre earlier this year and we immediately had a great connection. He has a real passion for photography and we enjoy working together on new ideas and concepts. He is a true gentleman and very professional, always making sure the model is comfortable and happy with the results as the shoot goes along.
Never a dull moment with team Marna and Andre…lots of joking around and fun and laughter…but of course he’ll never share the behind-the-scenes photos with you, he’s just too professional and loyal (thanks Andre wink wink!)
How did you find our Magazine / Brand and what makes MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA so unique for you Marna, please describe?
I love the fact that MOLLMAGSA recognizes local talent and celebrates beauty in all forms.
“Gone are the days that models have to be a specific size and shape and basically flawless to be appreciated.”
SPRING SEASON has arrived in South Africa, what is the first thing on your to do list for the start of SPRING please share with us AND what makes this SPRING SEASON so special for you Marna?
Of course, I’m unpacking all my bikini’s and getting my tan on! Spring is my favorite season. It brings a sense of joy, positivity and hope seeing all the blooms after months of dreariness.
“Spring always makes me feel that love is in the air!”
FUN FACTS WITH MOLLBABE MODEL MARNA DE BEER:
FAVORITE WAY TO RELAX AND UNWIND AFTER A BUSY AND HECTIC DAY FOR YOU? – I enjoy looong bubble baths… with a chilled glass of wine…as long as it’s a noble late harvest vintage. Music also keeps me sane and I love songs where the lyrics just speak to your heart.
IF NOT MODELING, WHAT OTHER CAREER CHOICE WOULD YOU WANT TO BE DOING? – Well actually I’m a qualified Audiologist in Private Practice…beauty and brains as they say (laugh). I’ve opened up my own hearing practice (Hear4Life) in Pretoria in 2017, followed by 2 satellite practices in Heilbron in the Free State as well as in Malelane in Mpumalanga.
FAVORITE VACATION DESTINATION IN THE WHOLE WORLD AND WHY? – I’ve travelled the world quite a bit, but I’ll always be in love with the African bushveld. Nothing more special than watching the golden pink hues of a sunset followed by a magnificent starry night sky, watching a roaring fire and listening to the call of the nightjars. Sharing this with someone you love…extra special.
FAVORITE NETFLIX SERIES OR MOVIE YOU RECENTLY BINGE ON OR WATCHED FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER? – I just finished Your Honor on DSTV NOW and Truth Be Told on Apple TV… both gripping legal and crime dramas with unexpected plot twists.
WHAT MAKES YOU THE HAPPIEST AND MOST HUMBLE IN LIFE AS WE KNOW IT? – I’m at my happiest when I can make a positive contribution in someone’s life, sometimes the smallest gesture makes the biggest difference. I love giving out a compliment when it’s due (as a woman I don’t think we complement each other enough)
SEPTEMBER MONTH IS ALSO HERTAIGE MONTH WHAT IS IT THAT MAKES YOU PROUD OF YOUR HERITAGE IN SOUTH AFRICA? – I’m proud to be part of a multicultural nation, embracing our differences and sharing our mutual love for the sunny weather, melktert and braaivleis. Where else in the world can you rock up at a party with your cooler and your flip flops?
FAVORITE FOOD DISH TO MAKE OR ENJOY? – Mmmmm food…as I’m one of those lucky ones that can eat what they want when they want without gaining any weight, it’s really difficult to only choose one,
but my favorites include sushi, especially salmon roses, grilled sirloin steak and Crème Brûlée for dessert. I also can’t resist cheese burgers, pizzas and chocolates but I’ll stop here before I lose any followers (laugh)
TIME TO BE AN INSPIRATION TO OTHERS WHAT WOULD BE YOUR MESSAGE OF INSPIRATION TO OTHER WOMEN TODAY AKA LIFE MOTTO? – To sum up my motto in life I’ll quote Andy Dufresne from one of my favorite movies The Shawshank Redemption: “It comes down to a simple choice, really. Get busy living or get busy dying”
What I take from this is to take chances on happiness, don’t get stuck in a place where you are not celebrated or loved. If you don’t like the life you’re living, make some changes. We only have one life, make the most of it. It’s never too late.
