As we asked Stacey what makes the band name SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES so unique and she says as we quote her: It’s the journey and combination of the love for music between friends and truly talented musicians…

It’s truly a project based in friendship…& anyone who knows me know I AM a social butterfly!”

Let’s find out more as our CEO of MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA Arne Schreuder sat done in interview with mollbabe covermodel and music artist Stacey Rios from SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES BAND for the month of #ROCKTOBER2021

“ROCKIN’ WITH RIOS THE MUSIC JOURNEY OF THE SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES”

Welcome Back Stacey, congrats on your cover feature with us for MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA #RockToberMonth 2021 , how does it feel when you got the news from our CEO Arne Schreuder?

Thank you for having me! I’m so excited, I always appreciate the support from my MOLL MAG SA family!

Please introduce us to the band aka SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES where are you all based and what makes SOCIAL BUTTERFLIES BAND so unique in so many ways on the music circuit… where did it all start for the band?

Social Butterflies is based in St. Louis, MO. My songwriting partner (Domenico Tricamo) & I have been friends & admirers of each other’s music for a long time but never had the right opportunity to work together. Over COVID lockdown, we were able to connect & suddenly with no option to play live music & no options for me to continue with modeling & events, we had the time to really explore these songs.

He brought the name Social Butterflies to me with the idea that we would include his tremendously talented daughter, & also have the ability to collaborate with friends & musicians to write & record the songs we wanted to create.

“It’s truly a project based in friendship…& anyone who knows me know I AM a social butterfly!”

For today’s cover feature the theme is all about that music journey as a music artist in the industry aka “THE MUSIC JOURNEY OF THE SOCIALBUTTERFLIES BAND” , tell us what is it that stood out for you from this photoshoot?

STACEY AS A MODEL & MUSIC ARTIST – Well, it’s always a pleasure to work with Jerry Steele. In true Social Butterflies fashion, he is one of my very best friends & shooting comes very easy.

“I also wanted to do something that was more about music & get to show my instruments more! I love my guitars!”

J.STEELE PHOTOGRAPHY (JERRY STEELE) – Great to be part of this team for sure and always wonderful to work with STACEY on a photoshoot and projects like this. “Really proud to see my photography on the COVER for MOLLMAG SOUTH AFRICA!!”

Also, a HUGE congratulations to the band on your first debut single and music video aka “LOST” what was the planning and creativity thinking behind it all, spill the beans and please share with us?

“Lost” is a song that Domenico & his daughter (Tia) already had written. I wasn’t expecting to sing lead on that song, so I was not rehearsed when we recorded it. But I was (& still am) truly honored to have gotten to record the song because I think it’s great! I did have a lot to do with the video concept.

The song lyrics reference Tarot cards & also a tremendous amount of emotional vulnerability & loss. So, I had the idea that for the video the main character could be an Angel who has a tarot reading (tarot reader played by Dani Dawn MOLLBABE MODEL from previous MOLLMAG shoots!) & The Angel chooses to remove her own wings.

She felt the loss & lost her immortality. We were able to work with some very talented people to make the video happen! Dani, Domenico, of course the videographers Louie C. Granados & Rachel Hill.

Stacey let’s talk MODELING AND MUSIC how do you as a model & music artist combine the 2 genres in your lifestyle, give us the lowdown in a day with “STACEY RIOS the MUSIC ARTIST & MODEL”?

I’m truly blessed to do both! Last night I worked a high-profile event as a model, this morning I had a spot on a local network station spotlighting the Oktoberfest festival

I’m working all weekend! I’ll get to dance & play music with the bands, play live shows with Social Butterflies or my local cover band A.D.D. Then the costuming or wardrobe for the shows.

“I like to get creative or come up with themes for events or band gigs or shoots, it’s a large part of my creative outlet!”

FUN FACTS WITH OCTOBER 2021 COVERMODEL / MUSIC ARTIST STACEY RIOS:

AS A MUSIC ARTIST WHAT IS THE HARDEST THING TO DO AND ACCEPT IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY AND MUSIC CIRCUIT FOR YOU PERSONALLY STACEY? – It’s easy to deflect blame for why you aren’t accomplishing what you want to accomplish musically-it’s really difficult to accept responsibility for why you get in the way of your own successes.

And I mean that fully acknowledging that we all define success differently. “So, if your version of success is writing an album…it’s up to you to do it!”

HOW DO YOU PREPARE YOURSELF FOR A LIVE MUSIC GIG STACEY SHARE WITH US YOUR ROUTINE TO GET YOU READY TO JAM LIVE? – Well…I might be getting dressed & doing my makeup in my car LOL! I’m always going from one place to another, sometimes multiple gigs in a day, so I usually pack the night before so I’m as ready as can be the day of.

I also do a lot of vocal warmups, social media posting, texting people when they tell me they’re coming out. It’s a whole social affair for me lol

AFTER A HECTIC DAY ON STAGE HOW DO YOU RELAX AND REWIND STACEY? – Usually with a shower & a pint of ice cream!

FAVORITE NETFLIX SERIES OR MOVIE YOU RECENTLY BINGE ON OR WATCHED FOR THE MONTH OF OCTOBER? – I re-watched Schitt’s Creek & GLOW! I love comedy & to keep things light! I also loved the David Geffen Documentary, really interesting!

STACEY TIME TO SPILL THE BEANS, AS A MUSICIAN IN YOUR OWN RIGHT, TELL US WHAT IS THE MOST OUTRAGES / WEIRD, BUT SWEET FAN MAIL OR REQUEST YOU GOT FROM A FAN, PLEASE SHARE THE MOMENT WITH US – People have all kinds of requests, everything from guitar pics to signed posters to clothing items!

I have received some really sweet gifts, my dear friend Brandon gifted a guitar to me, Dorian (my boyfriend) has also gifted me a beautiful guitar (the white Charvel seen in the video for Lost), & I’ve received stage wear, even Christmas ornaments lol

“Most importantly, though, I’ve received support through social media share & people coming out to live shows, that means the most to me!”

FAVORITE MUISC GIG YOU PERFORMED THUS FAR, WHERE AND WHEN WAS IT? – Probably getting to play during sports games! There are a huge crowd & people are super excited, you’re outdoors, they are always huge events! Then you get to watch the game!

BRINGING FASHION TOGETHER WITH MUSIC WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS YOUR FAVORITE OUTFIT TO WHERE ON STAGE AND IN PUBLIC? – I’m working on butterfly wings to perform with!

THE MUSIC SCENE HAS CHANGE DRASTICLY DUE TO COVID-19 WHAT IS THE MOST DRASTIC CHANGE FOR YOU AS AN MUSIC ARTIST? – Not playing or attending live shows! But then getting to spend time recording & writing & getting to start this project with Domenico!

FAVORITE FOOD SNACK BACKSTAGE WHEN YOU GET THE MUNCHIES? – Ice Cream, Chips and Almonds!!

DARE TO DREAM, IF YOU COULD COLAB WITH AN WELL-KNOWN INTERNATIONAL MUSIC ARTIST WHO WILL IT BE AND WHY? – Probably Annie Clark/St. Vincent… she is just so innovative & a true artist

YOUR QOUTE OF INSPIRATION TODAY SHARE WITH US? – “The show doesn’t go on because it’s ready; it goes on because it’s 11:30” – from Lorne Michaels of Saturday Night Live
